Summer Dance Classes 2027
Studio for the Performing Arts
Join us this summer for an exciting season of dance, movement, and fun! Our summer program offers classes for a variety of ages and experience levels, from first-time dancers to advanced students looking to continue their training.
Tuesday Classes
Pre-Combo (Ages 6/7–9)
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
$50.00
This one-hour class includes:
- 30 Minutes of Ballet
- 30 Minutes of Tap
Students will build confidence while learning age-appropriate dance techniques in a fun and encouraging environment.
Wednesday Classes
Creative Movement (Ages 3–5)
5:00 PM – 5:30 PM
An introduction to ballet designed specifically for young dancers. Students will learn beginning dance terms and movements while developing:
- Basic motor skills
- Coordination
- Cooperative play
- Listening and direction-following skills
All taught in a fun, positive atmosphere.
Pre-Combo (Ages 5–7)
5:30 PM – 6:30 PM
The next step after Creative Movement. Students will continue developing ballet skills while being introduced to:
- Basic Tap technique
- Dance terminology
- Musicality and movement
Classes are designed to be age-appropriate and engaging.
Ballet & Technique (Ages 10+)
5:00 PM – 6:15 PM
This class focuses on strengthening classical ballet technique through:
- Warm-ups
- Barre work
- Center floor exercises
- Across-the-floor combinations
- Proper body alignment and flexibility
Ideal for dancers looking to improve their overall technique and performance skills.
Pointe / Pre-Pointe (Ages 10+)
6:15 PM – 7:00 PM
Pointe Students: Must have previous pointe experience.
Pre-Pointe Students: Will remain in ballet slippers while focusing on:
- Strengthening feet and ankles
- Improving body alignment
- Developing proper technique and conditioning for future pointe work
Special Summer Workshops
Wednesdays – July 8 & July 29
Turns & Jumps Workshop (Ages 10+)
7:00 PM – 7:45 PM
Designed to help dancers improve and refine:
- Pirouettes and turns
- Leaps and jumps
- Balance and control
- Technical execution
Perfect for dancers looking to clean up existing skills or learn new ones.
Lyrical Workshop (Ages 10+)
7:45 PM – 8:30 PM
Lyrical dance combines the technical foundation of ballet with the creativity and expression of modern dance. Dancers will learn how movement can be used to interpret and express music through fluid, emotional choreography.
Saturday Classes
Creative Movement (Ages 3–5)
9:00 AM – 9:30 AM
A repeat offering of our popular introductory dance class for young dancers.
Tumbling (Ages 3–6)
9:30 AM – 10:00 AM
Students will be introduced to basic tumbling and acro skills while developing:
- Core strength
- Upper body strength
- Flexibility
- Coordination
All instruction is age-appropriate and focused on building confidence.
Acro (Ages 7–10)
10:00 AM – 10:45 AM
Perfect for both beginners and students with previous cheer or acro experience.
Students will work on:
- Basic tumbling skills
- Acro technique
- Flexibility
- Strength and conditioning
- Body control and coordination
A great class for students involved in cheerleading.
Combo Class
11:00 AM – 12:00 PM
The next level after Pre-Combo. Students will continue building Ballet and Tap skills while being introduced to Jazz dance.
Summer is a great time to explore new dance styles and build confidence in a relaxed environment.
Hip Hop (Ages 6–10)
12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
A high-energy class perfect for first-time dancers!
Hip Hop focuses on:
- Rhythm and musicality
- Movement and performance
- Confidence and self-expression
This style is generally less technical than Ballet, Tap, or Jazz and may incorporate some tumbling and acro elements.
