Studio for the Performing Arts
At Studio for the Performing Arts, we offer classes for dancers of all ages and experience levels. Our programs are designed to develop confidence, creativity, discipline, and technical excellence in a fun and supportive environment.
Preschool Dance Program
Dancing Tots (Ages 2–3)
Saturday | 8:30 AM – 9:00 AM
Dancing Tots is a fun-filled introductory class designed specifically for our youngest dancers. Through music, movement, and imaginative play, children develop:
- Socialization skills
- Basic motor skills
- Coordination
- Cooperative play
- Listening and participation skills
Students should wear comfortable clothing and attend class barefoot to allow for easy movement.
Please note: Dancing Tots students do not participate in the annual recital.
Creative Movement (Ages 3–5)
Monday | 5:00 PM – 5:30 PM
Saturday | 10:00 AM – 10:30 AMCreative Movement nurtures a love of dance while introducing young students to the fundamentals of ballet. Classes encourage imagination, musicality, and self-expression while developing important physical and social skills.
Students will learn:
- Basic ballet positions
- Beginning dance terminology
- Musical awareness
- Coordination and balance
- Classroom etiquette

Youth Dance Program
Pre-Combo (Ages 5–7)
Tuesday | 6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Saturday | 10:30 AM – 11:30 AMPre-Combo builds upon the skills learned in Creative Movement and introduces dancers to both Ballet and Tap.
Students will focus on:
- Ballet technique and terminology
- Proper posture and alignment
- Basic tap sounds and rhythms
- Musicality and performance skills

Intermediate Dance Program
Little Stars & Super Stars
Ages 8–11 (Placement Based on Ability)
Our Little Stars and Super Stars programs provide a well-rounded dance education while introducing additional dance styles and increasing technical expectations.

Designed for dedicated dancers seeking more comprehensive training, the Mini Program develops both technical and artistic skills while encouraging discipline, confidence, and professionalism.

Our Pointe Program is designed for dancers who demonstrate the strength, technique, and commitment necessary for pointe work.

- Audition/Instructor Approval Required

Musical Theatre
Ages 10 & Up
Saturday | 9:00 AM – 9:30 AM
Monday | 8:00 PM – 8:30 PMStep into the spotlight with this exciting performance-based class! Students learn:
- Musical theatre dance styles
- Stage presence
- Character development
- Facial expressions
- Lip-sync and performance techniques
This high-energy class helps build confidence while bringing Broadway-style excitement to every lesson.
Acro Program
Acro 1
Ages 5–7
Tuesday | 5:15 PM – 6:00 PM
Students learn the foundations of acrobatics in a safe and supportive environment.
Skills include:
- Forward and backward rolls
- Bridges
- Handstands
- Cartwheels
- Basic limbering
Goals
- Build flexibility and strength
- Develop body awareness
- Learn proper acro technique
- Connect movement with music
Acro 2
Ages 7 & Up
Tuesday | 7:00 PM – 7:45 PM
Students continue building their acro foundation while progressing to more advanced skills.
Skills may include:
- One-handed cartwheels
- Walkovers
- Balances
- Partner work
- Acro combinations
Goals
- Improve control and flexibility
- Develop stronger technique
- Learn smooth transitions between tricks
- Enhance overall dance performance
Open Acro
Ages 10 & Up
Wednesday | 4:15 PM – 5:00 PM
Designed for experienced students looking to master advanced acrobatic skills.
Skills may include:
- Aerials
- Back handsprings
- Advanced walkovers
- Chest stands
- Tumbling combinations
Goals
- Develop advanced technique
- Increase strength and endurance
- Incorporate acro into choreography
- Improve performance quality and confidence
Hip Hop
Ages 7 & Up

Hip Hop is an energetic and exciting dance style that emphasizes rhythm, musicality, creativity, and self-expression.
Students will explore:
- Basic hip hop techniques
- Musical interpretation
- Performance skills
- Coordination and movement quality
