Class Descriptions
At The Studio for the Performing Arts, we offer dance programs for students of different ages, experience levels, and abilities. Whether your dancer is taking their very first class or continuing advanced training, our goal is to provide a positive, educational, and encouraging environment.
Students are placed according to age and/or ability to ensure they are enrolled in the program that best supports their development.
Specialty Classes
Hip Hop
Ages: 7/8 & Up — Placement by Ability
Class Length: 30 Minutes
Dance Attire:
Comfortable clothing and Hip Hop sneakers.
This fun, high-energy class introduces students to exciting Hip Hop and street jazz movement. Students are drawn to the energetic choreography, upbeat music, and dance combinations they can enjoy both inside and outside the studio.
No ballet class is required to participate in Hip Hop.
Acro Dance
Ages: 3 & Up — Placement by Ability
Class Length: 30 or 45 Minutes
Tuition: $45 or $60 Monthly, depending on class length
Dance Attire:
Comfortable, fitted clothing such as shorts, tights, leggings, T-shirts, or a leotard. Clothing should remain securely in place while students are inverted.
Acro Dance combines traditional dance training with acrobatic technique. Students work on:
- Core and muscle strength
- Flexibility
- Endurance
- Agility
- Acrobatic technique
This class is also a great option for students interested in improving movements used in cheerleading and gymnastics.
Main Dance Programs
Dancing Tots
Ages: 2–3
Class Length: 30 Minutes
Tuition: $45 Monthly
Dance Attire:
Comfortable clothing and bare feet.
Please Note: This age group does not participate in the recital.
Dancing Tots is the first step in our preschool dance program. This fun and welcoming class helps our youngest dancers develop basic motor skills, socialization, cooperative play, and comfort in a classroom environment.
Creative Movement
Ages: 3–5
Class Length: 30 Minutes
Tuition: $45 Monthly
Dance Attire:
Solid leotard, tights, hair secured up, and pink ballet shoes.
Creative Movement is the second step in our preschool dance program. The curriculum encourages imagination, a love of movement and music, and learning in a fun classroom environment.
Students begin learning basic ballet positions and terminology while continuing to strengthen their coordination and motor skills.
Pre-Combo
Ages: 5–7
Class Length: 1 Hour
Tuition: $70 Monthly
Dance Attire:
Solid leotard, tights, hair secured up, pink ballet shoes, and black tap shoes. Buckles are preferred.
Pre-Combo is the third step in our young dancer program. Students continue developing their ballet vocabulary, form, and technique while being introduced to the fundamentals of Tap.
Students begin learning basic Tap terminology, sounds, steps, and combinations while continuing their ballet education.
Star Program
Estimated Ages: 8–11 — Placement by Ability
Class Length: 2 Hours
Tuition: $120 Monthly
Ballet Only: $50 Monthly
Dance Attire:
Solid leotard, tights, hair secured up, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, Jazz shoes, and Lyrical shoes.
The Star Program is designed to challenge aspiring dancers as they continue developing their Ballet and Tap training while being introduced to Jazz and Lyrical dance.
This program gives dancers the opportunity to expand their technique and experience several different styles of dance in one comprehensive program.
Mini Program
Estimated Ages: 11 & Up — Placement by Ability
Class Length: 2½ Hours
Tuition: $170 Monthly
Ballet Only: $60 Monthly
Dance Attire:
Solid leotard, tights, hair secured up, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, Jazz shoes, and Lyrical shoes.
Our Mini Program is conveniently scheduled on one night and provides dancers with continued instruction in:
Ballet • Tap • Jazz • Lyrical
Along with developing dance technique, students continue learning discipline, poise, dedication, and respect.
Junior & Senior Programs
Ages: Placement by Ability
Tuition: $170 Monthly
Ballet Only: $85 Monthly
Dance Attire:
Black leotard, pink tights, and hair secured in a bun.
Please check with your instructor regarding required shoe colors and styles.
Our Junior and Senior Programs take dancers to the next level of their dance education. Students are challenged with more complex choreography while continuing to develop proper technique in:
Ballet • Tap • Jazz • Lyrical
Our goal is to prepare advanced dancers for whatever opportunities they choose to pursue after leaving our studio.
Students at this level may also be invited to audition for our Pointe Program.
Additional Programs
Pre-Pointe & Pointe
By Invitation Only
Tuition: $60 Monthly
Dance Attire:
Black leotard, pink tights, and hair secured in a bun.
Our Pointe Program is designed for dedicated dancers interested in learning the beauty and technique of dancing en pointe.
Students participating in Pointe must also take Ballet classes at SPA. Placement is determined by the instructor.
SPA Ballet Company
Ages: 7/8 & Up
The SPA Ballet Company gives students who love Ballet and performing an additional opportunity to develop their skills and take the stage.
The Ballet Company meets on Saturday mornings. During productions such as the Spring Ballet or The Nutcracker, company time may be incorporated into scheduled rehearsals.
Current SPA Students: $45 Monthly
Student must be actively enrolled in an SPA Ballet class to receive this rate.
Outside Ballet Students: $75 Monthly
Open auditions may also be held for Ballet productions for dancers ages 3 through adult.

Specialty Class Pricing
Students currently enrolled in another SPA class may add a specialty class for an additional:
$40 Monthly
Students interested in taking only specialty classes may enroll based on the regular class-length pricing.

Unlimited Class Options
For dancers looking to take advantage of more of what SPA has to offer, unlimited class options are available:
Stars — $200 Monthly
Mini — $210 Monthly
Junior/Senior — $230 Monthly
Family Discount
We are happy to offer a tuition discount to families with multiple dancers enrolled at SPA.
2 Children — 5% Family Discount
3 Children — 10% Family Discount
The family discount applies to tuition only.
Flexible Payment Options
We understand that every family’s budget and schedule are different, which is why SPA offers flexible payment options.

Families may choose automatic debit or credit payments, helping keep tuition payments convenient and on time.

Important Class Information
Dance attire should follow SPA’s class guidelines. No bare midriffs are permitted. Tights are required in all classes unless otherwise directed by the instructor.
Students are placed according to ability, particularly in our higher-level programs. Preschool programs generally follow age more closely.
For new students, an SPA faculty member will be happy to evaluate your dancer and determine the class level that best meets their needs.
A minimum of 5 students per class is required for a class to be held. Class times may be adjusted when enrollment is below the minimum.
Students interested in taking only a portion of a program may contact us to discuss available options. For example, a student interested only in Ballet may be accommodated when possible.
